I’m excited you’ve picked up my new book,  The 6 Week Workout Program. You are making an important step to improving your health!

A little about me…

I love fitness. I am a graduate of Brigham Young University.  There I earned a BS in Exercise Science and minors in Nutrition and Business Management.  I am currently working on my Doctor of Physical Therapy at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. I have 3 certifications. 1) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) 2)Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) Both are through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). 3) Certified Posture Specialist (CPS)- This one is through the National Posture Institute (NPI).  I study and admire the work of Mike Clark (NASM), Gray Cook, Paul Check, Pete Egoscue, Moshe Feldenkrais, Mike Nelson, Tom Dalonzo-Baker, and Tim Flynn.

I own Body4Change, LLC with my brother, Preston Rainey.  It is a personal training company that was started in 2007 and we bought it December 2011. It gives me an opportunity to help more people improve their fitness than I have time to individually. I have trained and love training a variety of clients—from mothers looking to get in shape to elite athletes. My hobbies are studying exercise, nutrition, and health. I enjoy playing a variety of sports, learning, financial investing, going to church, and spending time with my wife. You can contact me anytime here.

I originally became interested in fitness in late middle school.  My career path was cemented in 2005 when I met Sidney Reeves- a very accomplished fitness trainer in North Ogden, UT and owner of Sidney’s Studio-  who I have learned more about fitness training than anyone else and am now close friends with.  I love sports, but had to train hard to have a chance at succeeding.  Soccer was my first love.  That gave way to basketball and finally football.  I hope to be involved in sports for the remainder of my life, but my playing culminated in getting a scholarship to play cornerback for Graceland University in 2005.  I redshirted that year, left for a 2 year mission for my church, and for a number of personal reasons decided to forgo playing football competitively anymore and started school at BYU.  I quickly became certified as a personal trainer through the NSCA after serving a mission.  I soon learned from Josh Morzelewski, an assistant strength and conditioning coach at BYU, that even with all the success that he’s had thus far, he wishes that he would have gone to school to get his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.  He feels it would give him an edge in the field of training athletes.  Before I could do all this, however, I was able to use my personal training certificate.  It benefited me greatly because I was able to get a fantastic job at Gold’s Gym in Provo, UT where I was able to rise to Fitness Manager (manager of personal trainers)  for a time.  I then left Gold’s Gym to train athletes at Xtraordinary Sports Performance in Salt Lake City, UT.  I had phenomenal experiences there.  I met and worked with many athletes including ones that I previously had only seen on TV and got to learn from the owner who is an excellent trainer- Erick Land. After leaving there I worked very hard at finishing The 6 Week Workout Program to prepare it for publication.  I hope this site can become one that people come to for educated information. I also hope many people take the opportunity to purchase my book and improve their workouts and their health.
